1、Aptos Incentivized Testnet 3(AIT3 ) will go live on August 30, and stablecoin USA has announced that it would switch from Solana to Aptos. Link

The registration period for Aptos Incentivized Testnet 3 (AIT3) is from August 19 through August 26, and the results will be released on August 27. AIT3 will launch on 30 August and completing testing on 9 September.

On August 17, Defi protocol Argo announced that its stablecoin USA would transition from Solana to Aptos. Argo claims that Aptos operates on the Move VM, which facilitates the creation of auditable, secure contracts.

2、Cardano Rosetta 1.8.0 was released, and new consensus protocol Ofelimos was introduced Link

On August 16, Cardano Rosetta version 1.8.0, which supports the Vasil protocol upgrade, was released. Cardano Rosetta aims to make the integration process easier, faster, and more reliable.

Input Output Global (IOG), the Cardano’s research and development company, has developed a new consensus protocol called Ofelimos, which is based on Proof of Useful Work (PoUW) and attempts to convert Proof of Work (PoW) into Proof of Useful Work (PoUW) methods to solve energy efficiency issues.

Adam Dean, a core developer for Cardano, said on social media on August 19 that the upcoming Vasil hard fork version 1.35.2 has a bug. However, most SPOs have already upgraded to version 1.35.2, so the team is addressing this issue, such as encouraging SPO upgrades to 1.35.3, etc.

3、ZkSync presents a new paradigm for Gas fees that permits dynamic fee mechanisms Link

The Ethereum Layer2 protocol zkSync stated on August 17 that a new Gas fee model will be introduced to enable a dynamic fee mechanism. The new charge structure will be dependent on the transaction’s resource consumption, and the unit of measurement will be renamed from “gas” to “ERGs.” The revised cost model will also support EIP-1559.

4、NEAR has launched the sharding test network and the main network will be live next month Link

News: The test net for NEAR Phase 1 sharding was released on Github on August 15, and the release of the main net is anticipated for the following month. Previously, NEAR intended to convert Wallet.Near.org into a landing page for all NEAR-compatible wallets and encourage wallet owners on Wallet.Near.org to switch to the new provider. To maintain a seamless user experience, the NEAR Foundation announced on August 17 that its intention to transform Wallet.Near.org into a multi-wallet platform is on pause. In the coming months, the team will collect community feedback and decide on a suitable solution based on that feedback.

5、New Dogechain Network, allowing users bridge over Dogecoin (DOGE) to tap into web3 services Link

On August 13, Dogechain was launched, and in just 72 hours, more than 20,000 new wallets and over 200,000 transactions were conducted.

Dogechain is an EVM-compatible blockchain developed with the Polygon SDK to facilitate efficient connection between Dogecoin (DOGE) and Web3. This link describes the working idea of Dogechain, how to integrate Dogechain with MetaMask, and how to use Dogechain. It is important to note that Dogechain’s technology is currently in its infancy of development. The basic protocol and method may be susceptible to exceptions, therefore users should pay attention when employing them.

6、The first deployment of Compound III is a USDC market on Ethereum Link

On August 16, Compound tweeted that the first deployment of Compound III is a USDC market on Ethereum. The contracts are on mainnet, and can be activated by Compound Governance.

Compound III has undergone significant changes, including the use of a single loanable base asset, a mortgage size limit for each mortgage asset, separate loan and liquidation mortgage indexes, a completely redesigned risk management/liquidation engine, and direct feed via Chainlink. The updated version enhances capital efficiency, gas efficiency, security, and management convenience.

7、EOS EVM will be operational soon, and the main network will undergo a hard fork upgrade in September Link

On August 17, Yves La Rose, CEO of the EOS Network Foundation, announced the introduction of a new forked public chain Antelope (previously the EOSIO) to replace EOS in a social media post. The EOSIO consortium will publish a new codebase for the core protocol this week, signalling EOS’s move from a Block One entity controlled codebase to a decentralised open source effort.

EOS will hardfork and activate its V3.1 Consensus update on September 21, which will also include the adoption of the EOS EVM, which is TrustEVM. The TrustEVM includes deterministic Gas computation, EVM compatibility at the instruction set level, and full RPC compatibility.

8、DEX DOOAR of Stepn has been launched and facilitates the exchange of GMT, GST, USDC, and ETH assets. Link

DOOAR, the DEX operated by STEPN, became live in the front end on August 17th, with a new UI/UX design. Currently, only four asset types are supported: GMT, GST, USDC, and ETH. DOOAR presently has approximately 77,000 daily active users, according to Dune.

DOOAR will begin in three stages. It is implemented into the STEPN application in the first stage and exclusively supports STEPN users. In the second stage, any user can provide liquidity for GST/USDC and GMT/USDC. At last, any user can construct liquidity pools for other tokens.

9、The third season of The Sandbox Alpha begins on August 24 Link

The Sandbox announced on August 17 that Season 3 of The Sandbox Alpha will begin on August 24 and will be available to everyone for free. By signing up for a TSB account, players will be able to access more than 90 games, accomplish quests, accumulate Ethos Points, and enter sweepstakes and leaderboards for the current season.

10、Metaverse Leader Ape week’s news Link

The AIP-78 proposition was approved with 95.9% of the vote on August 18. The API-78 proposal describes APE DAO’s intention to create a public Web3 environment with an APE-themed web3 park. The gameplay can be derived from Fall Guys, in which the Ape Coin is employed as the primary currency in the theme world, in order to improve the Ape Coin application situation.

On the same day, Yuga Labs tweeted about the Ethereum merger, adding that Yuga Labs will only accept NFTs on the Ethereum PoS chain as licenced and authorised to use Yuga utilities.
